Comparison of Ballistocardiogram Processing Methods Based on Fiber Specklegram Sensors

The ballistocardiogram (BCG) is a graphic representation of the movements body associated with cardiac activity. In this article, 10-min BCG has been captured for ten different volunteers polymer optical fiber (POF) specklegram sensor. This transducer, which composed charge-coupled device (CCD) camera, laser emitting diode, and two meters POF, allows capturing by analyzing how induced speckle pattern changes over time. These are related to Several processing methods have compared determine method achieves best performance: complex cepstrum, power spectral density (PSD), Pam–Tompkins algorithm, wavelet, autocorrelation, Savitzky–Golay filter, mean absolute deviation, Hilbert transform. Accuracy resource consumption characterized these methods. Hilbert, PSD, exhibit both small errors computational costs. article describes baseline main frequency determination POF-based signals in real-time.
